True Love

I love that you don’t take my bullshit

Or my half-ass excuses

You make me

Strive. Fight. Push.

To be the strongest I can be

You whip my back with words

That motivate the soul and feed my mind

And they leave my bleeding

And hungry

Building a fury

True love is tough

It forces me to break from the shell I hide in

My broken home built from

Failures. Losses.

And all things rough

True love should allow you to see the

Golden gleam underneath all that’s ever been

Broken and tattered

Now is stronger than ever

Thanks for not accepting anything less than my best.
